Maguire campsite is named in honor of Frank Maguire, long time staff member and Order of the Arrow Lodge Advisor. Maguire was the last campsite to
be built on the Tenny side of camp. It was sponsored and built in
his honor by Madockawanda Lodge in 1981.

About Frank Maguire
Frank Maguire has served the boys of Pine Tree Council at the troop level, as a member of the Camp Hinds staff, as an Order of the Arrow member and advisor, and on many Council activities. He served as Scoutmaster of Troop 22 in South Portland from 1955 to 1991. Over the years many of the Camp Hinds staff members were Scouts trained by Frank in Troop 22. Some of those Scouts were Peter Curran, Mike King, David King, Bob Hasson, Bill Wiles, and Tom Henderson just to name a few. Frank served on the Camp Hinds staff for nearly 20 years in various capacities: Assistant Provisional Scoutmaster 1952, Provisional Scoutmaster 1953, 56, 57; business manager 1958, nature director 1959, program director 1960-64 and 1970; part-time provisional Scoutmaster, program director, and CIT trip leader 1965-69. He was extremely active in the Order of the Arrow from 1955 to 1980. He received Vigil Honor in 1958 and the National OA Distinguished Service Award in 1971. He was the Hinds chapter advisor from 1955 to 1960. Frank then served as Lodge Advisor from 1960 to 1980. He also was National Conference tour leader in 1965, 1967, 1969, and 1971. From 1964 to 1972 he was the Area 1-B leader. On the council level he was Scoutmaster
for National Jamboree Troops in 1964, 1969, and 1973. Frank attended
the 1972 World Jamboree as Assistant Scoutmaster. He has also served
as Council Jamboree Chairman 1969, 1973, 1985 - 2001.
