In 1966 the big change in camp was the construction of the present bridge across the Tenny River.  Under the leadership of Camping Committee chairman Ken Cadigan, the EC Snodgrass Company built the bridge at a low cost, using donated and used material where possible.  It was exciting to see a huge crane sitting on the shore of Chipmunk Point as it lifted timbers and I-Beams into place.

This new bridge opened up an era of expansion never imagined in the past, leading to the construction first of Brownsea campsite, then Siple and Bailey and finally Maguire sites. For a while Siple campsite was located at the end of the bridge but had to be removed due to environmental regulations.

In 1995 some of the main support beams were showing their age and were replaced by Ciambro Corporation of Jay, Maine.
