One of the first buildings to be constructed was originally  known as the Infirmary and opened for the 1929 camp season. Initially it was just the large section nearest to Pine Tree Cabin, but as the Scout population of camp grew it soon was enlarged with two more sections, a center wing serving as a ward, with four beds, and a further wing serving as the nurse’s quarters. The nurse’s wing stood about six feet above the sloping ground, evidence that it wasn’t originally planned that way. The original section was divided into a waiting area, an examining area, an “isolation” room and a bathroom.  It later became know as the Health Lodge.

This building served the camp for about fifty years, with many repairs keeping it upright and usable.  The three sections sometimes wanted to each go its own way so many work projects were needed to keep it all together.

This building was used as the Health Lodge until 1980 when health services were moved to the Konecki Health Lodge.  When the new health lodge was built the old one was then used for staff housing (1980-1985),  as the trading post and camp office (1986-1989), and as a staff lounge. It was finally was torn down and replaced with the present staff lounge over a two year period from 2000 to 2001.
