This peninsula, which extends into the Tenny River east of Wilderness campsite, is said to be the site where Harvey Woodbury, a staff member in the thirties, pitched his tent and celebrated his honeymoon with his new bride. Harvey went on to become the scoutmaster of Troop 23, South Portland, for many years, and was also our Council Jamboree Chairman from 1950 to 1964. |
