The Pine Tree
Council conducted a capital campaign during the 1987-88 time frame. Over
2 million dollars was raised, and while a portion was allocated to the
council endowment fund, the majority of money raised was designated for
the camps.
One of the first projects was the much needed Maintenance and Storage Building which was completed in January 1989. It was designed to be 3600 sq ft with a large heated work space, bathroom, expansive storage loft, many large garage doors, and storage space for all tentage and other summer equipment. The contract was awarded to K-Valley volunteer Bruce Fadden (Custom Building & Remodeling of Gardiner). Design work for this and all the major projects were done by architect Wilbur Ingalls and Marty Kadel with much input from the Camping Committee. Locations were plotted, where necessary by volunteer Bill Adams. |
