York District

 
The York District serves scouts in York County. Some of the many communities served are Biddeford, Sanford, Saco, and Kittery.

Regular meetings include...

  • Commissioner Meeting: 1st Wednesday of the month from 6pm-7pm
  • Roundtable & OA Chapter Meeting:1st Thursday of the month from 7pm-8:30pm at Sanford High School
  • District Committee: 2nd Thursday of the month at the Saco City Hall, 300 Main Street, Saco, ME at 7:00pm.
  • Advancement Committee, 1st Thursday of the month from 7pm-8:30pm at Sanford High School

District Chair

Richard Lambert With cooperation of the district executive (professional) and the district commissioner (volunteer) he is responsible for meeting the needs of Scouting's chartered partners by recruiting and motivating volunteers to carry out the functions of membership, program, unit service, and finance in the district. The district chairman is also be a member of the council executive board - responsible for representing the district to the vice president, operations.

Denis Hamann As the key volunteer responsible for unit service, the DC recruits, appoints, trains, and supervises and motivates the commissioner staff so that all units in the district receive regular, helpful services as promised in the charter agreement. He also oversees and gives leadership to the charter renewal procedures and works closely with the roundtable commissioners to ensure quality results and sees that roundtables are well attended. He is a member of the Council Commissioner Staff reporting to the Council Commissioner.
District Executive
 

Andrew Rueger Office:(207) 797-5252 ext 33 Employed by the Council Executive Board and works under the direction of the Scout Executive. He provides behind the scenes administrative support to a primarily volunteer Scouting movement. He has responsibilities to propose plans, to make sure recognition is given, to keep district records up-to date, to maintain contact with heads of chartered organizations, and to give inspiration and encouragement.
