Pine Tree Council owns five properties that units may use for short-term (weekend) camping.

They are:

Camp Nutter

Property Use Policies

 
Reservations for property usage are done through the Camping Department at Pine Tree Council (207) 797-5252.
  • A property use form must be filled out for all property usage. The application and accompanying fees must be received at the Council Office at least two weeks prior to the event.
  • Reservations for campsites and buildings need to be based on the listed capacity of the building or site. IF YOUR GROUP IS LARGER THAN THE CAPACITY OF THE BUILDING OR SITE THEN YOU NEED TO RENT MORE FACILITIES TO MEET YOUR GROUPS NEEDS! The fees are designed to reflect the cost of using the site at its set capacity.
  • All groups must check in with the Campmaster or Ranger when entering or leaving camp.
  • All groups must have at least TWO-DEEP adult leadership. One must be over 21 and one may be 18+. Check with the Guide for Safe Scouting for the adult to youth ratio for the age group you are serving. General guidelines for Cub Scouts are family camping with a parent or guardian to supervise each Cub Scout. Boy Scouts must follow the guideline of 2 adults for the first eight Scouts and 1 adult for each additional 8 Scouts
  • Items not allowed on Council property include: alcoholic beverages, illegal substances and fireworks.
  • Groups are responsible for any damage caused while they are using the facilities.
  • All local, state and BSA laws and policies must be abided by.
  • All units are strongly encouraged to bring their own supply of firewood.
  • Units are encouraged to bring their own water and water containers to camp.
  • Cooking fires and campfires are allowed in designated areas only.
  • Vehicles are allowed only on the main camp roads or in designated parking lots.
  • Vehicles in campsites or other restricted areas are prohibited. During certain seasons, such as mud season, the camp roads may be closed at the discretion of the Ranger.
  • All waste material must be removed upon departure.
  • Fallen dead trees and limbs may be used for firewood. No live trees or bushes may be removed without approval. Natural ground cover can only be removed around the fire pits. Please do not nail anything into trees.
  • Smoking is prohibited in any camp buildings or tents. Please refrain from smoking in the view of any Scouts. Smoking is allowed in designated smoking areas only.
  • Pine Tree Council observes BSA policies regarding the use of liquid fuel (white gas,propane) No use of or storage of fuel in tents or cabins. No unsupervised use of liquid fuel by minors.
These policies are in place for the health and safety of all of our campers, adults and visitors and for the proper stewardship and conservation of our facilities and resources. Please follow these policies in a Scoutlike manner.

Reservations for campsites and buildings will be based on listed capacity. If your group is larger than the capacity of the building or site, you will need to rent more facilities to meet your groups needs.

The above prices reflect the cost of the cabin/campsite rental only – canoes and/or other equipment may be rented indepenently through the Pine Tree Council.
 

Refund Policy

 
Individuals or groups that cancel their reservation 30 prior to the date of the rental will receive a refund of fees paid, less 15% administrative charge. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE AFTER THE 30 DAY CANCELLATION DEADLINE.
Camping Award

 
The Pine Tree Council ~ Council Camping Award was established to promote the use of the camping facilities at the Pine Tree Council Camps and to recognize those units that utilize all four camps in their yearly program.

To qualify for the Council Camping Award a unit will need to have utilized 4  Pine Tree Council camps for a unit activity during a consecutive 12-month period.  Activities must be for at least a 24-hour period, and each activity must be attended by no less that 25% of the registered youth in the unit.

Each unit that qualifies for the award will receive a streamer for their unit flag and a certificate.  A special patch is available for members of the qualifying unit if they attended all the 4 unit camping activities!  The Camping Award application form is available on the web site www.pinetreebsa.org
